ontrackgal09,  This is a great question seeing not many people actually do this.

I found a very simple way of doing this, and of course I delegate this out.
Here is my answer to your question about how much research on a company or opportunity
do you do before joining.
If I want to research a market, what I do is go  to a little company named fiverr.com and look for
people who will research a company for me.
Most will do a great job in looking at a company of industry for that matter to tell you where the
numbers are.  That way, you have a great opportunity to know how to get to that target market.
Before I used this I was going "Willy Nilly" with my marketing and now I am very strategic in my marketing methods.
Check it out for yourself and see that it is a great resource ... hope this helps y'all

This is a great question! So many just get swept up in hype. Documented proof is vital for me before partnering with an opportunity. If building from ground up, I would have to have some strong relationship already built with leadership team.

I really like bigticketguy 's answer. that is a great way to serif all the claims past the "How do you know that?" question.

My first place to search are always related forums. You will find that persons who are have issues or are also receiving success using a given product or service can be easily identify as they will state same in the either the general area a specific categories depending on the forums rules or guidelines. MMG and Emoneyspace or a few of the many forums I uses that assist me when making a decision on most money making programme I tend to join online.

Since all the opportunities I may be interested in are free or very low cost with a fast path to profit, I don't spend a lot of time in research until AFTER I join. There are so many variables to be considered, that most advice found online is unreliable anyway.
