What is the most professional way to respond to a family member who tells people what you do is a scam?

I started Affiliate Marketing about 3 years ago. When I addressed my sister about what I was doing, she insisted that I was being scammed by the program that I joined. To this day, she tells people that what I do is stupid, I am wasting my time,  and that I make no money.

The funny thing is, we NEVER talk about what it is I do (she doesn't want to hear anything about it) or how much money I have made.

I have three websites now that I have built from the ground up and she won't even visit them.

This is what I would do.  Tell your sister to look at a product that is on Walmart website that you both use like laudry detergent and show her that it is on sale on Walmart.  Make sure you show her on your or hers cell or computer. And then scroll down to the bottom of the page to show her the affiliate link to sign up to become affiliate...click on the link. Then explain to her that is what you do.  This will work with any shopping website that has a affiliate program.

Hope that helps!

Dearest Suzette,

When my children were young I did both online and offline jobs in order to be flexible with my husband and children's schedule and in order to be a stay at home mom. My family and friends didn't understand it then and still don't; that's been about 14-15 yrs. ago I think. I was criticized, questioned, and challenged regularly, but I knew I was making money so I continued on that path.

What I learned:

Your dream, is YOUR dream.

Live it, enjoy it, conquer it.

Just because people don't understand something doesn't mean they're right about it. Take the information people give you, think about it, analyze it and make tweaks where needed but keep your dream right in front of you and don't give up unless YOU decide it's not for you.

Don't take your eyes off the dream and goals.

Keep on keepin' on.
