I put as much time as I can and when i'm online the only thing I do is build traffic.
I do not have a prescribed amount of time. Some days it is more, some less, what i do devote is the time it takes to accomplish the daily priorities. Awesome question Whit!
Everyone really does have a different idea of what they want out of their business. I would say that you should put as much time into your business as it takes to get the results that you expect. With that said, you want to automate what you can and make sure you are having fun at least part of the time. It takes a lot to build a business to a level of maintenance and so you should expect that if you want to succeed you will be putting in some hours :)

The number of hours you need to devote on your business depends on the kind of business you have.

In my opinion you should devote as much time as possible to your business, if you work at it part time, like a housewife or busy mother might do, spare about 3 hours to it. If your home based business is your full time business, then plan to put in about 8 hours a day like you would any other business. Even though you are working from home, a business is still a business and should be treated as such.

When you finally figure out how to make the work from home thing happen for your situation it is one of the most incredible feelings.

All of a sudden you realize that you are working on a brand and business that solely belongs to you. All the hours of creativity, late nights and hard work are going directly into an asset that you yourself own.

And that is pretty cool!
I agree ebest, devoting as much time as possible is a must. And when you say a business is a business you're right and 8 hours to me would be the minimum!

For me, I work on my business part-time. Usually about 4 hours a day! During this time I usually focus on marketing my store, websites and products and blogging might fit in here as well. I set aside time in an evening to concentrate on the artsy (drawing) part of my business. I just find it more relaxing to break it up this way. You'll want to find the hours that work best for you especially if you're juggling family time, other work and so forth.

Hi seashell, I thought it interesting that you "break it up" into day and evening work, what a wonderful idea. I can see how having a fresh mind at night would bring out the best in creativity, I'll have to give it a shot. Really great answer.

We all or most of us think having a home business is easy and can get succeeded with 30 minutes to an hour a day work, while this might be true in the later days even once established the business the responsibility comes along with it can take several hours, depending on the business, training others, answering questions, helping team members, if we have an online affiliate business.

But at the begining it is no different than any other business to build. We have to spend what ever hours that takes to get it off the ground. My boys used to tell me, it seems I spend 24/7 on my computer working on my business till they opened their own business, Now with full time college and part time developing their own business, they don't have enough time to spend  time with family unless we arrange to do things together over the weekends, which is ok for now till they cross the line.

This area has been one of the hardest for me. Since I'm retired and can spend as many hours as I want, I'm usually distracted in one way or another or maybe it's simply procrastination rearing its ugly head again.  I know I need to focus on marketing and building however I do feel that regaining my good health is most important. I don't buy that, "Do whatever it takes" mentality. I'm not willing to kill myself just to build a successful business BUT if I'm healthy and feeling good/happy, I'm sure to be able to focus better on getting things done within my business which will eventually lead to ( what i consider ) a successful and happy business/lifestyle.

Honestly, when I am not studying I am here on the website promoting or helping other the best way I can, and that is normally longer that your regular 8-4 work day hour. I wake to IBO and go to sleep using IBO

I put in 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week. My main focus is Social Media and Forum networking to build my blog based newsletter theFreeGuru. The power is in fact in the list as subscriber opens are 50%, clicks 30% and 4-9% conversions from each send, but you have to put content before selling, if the newsletter is sales pitch after sales pitch you will need a steady flow of new subscribers because they will leave by the hundreds.

Set-up for a new branch of the business or a new campaign: as much as is needed.

Daily admin and correspondence: 2-3 hours, tops.

The attraction of e-commerce is to not be a slave to the business. This is done by automating virtually all of its operations.

I do tech support for Clickfunnels as my work from home job so I spend a good amount of time on it, but I also get to promote my own businesses of building custom funnels and marketing systems for business owners of all types. I highly recommend using as much of your time to dedicate to your business each day until it becomes your sole passion and source of income. Let me know if I can help you in any way...

I put a DMO ( daily method of Operation) I work with consistently.  It helps ground me to the things that are money making activities.

Usually it takes me 90-120 minutes to devote to these activities.

In that time I am creating outflow because outflow is what comes back as income.

Follow up

And List Building daily.

Hope this helps

Cheers and much success

Hello Whitney,

as I work a day job Monday to Friday, when I get home, I work from 4-6 hours a day advertising my Business (SFI) on many different platforms, responding to messages from my Team and people who have sent me an Email from my website, and doing web searches for any new advertising websites that are ranking well with Alexa and Google.

Then on the weekends I send out safe list messages and keep advertising my 3 websites I own and my Business for 8-10 hours

I keep motivated by seeing my Team Succeed so far I am having some Success with bringing in new Active Team Members who are willing to put in the efforts needed to run their own Businesses and building their Teams wider and deeper.

It is a numbers game and I will succeed in building my Business to the level where my sister and I do not have to work a 9-5 J.O.B. and work exclusively online.

My main focus is with our Team in seeing their success. We are consistently growing and those who are on my Team right now are motivated to get their own teams working this free program.

I wish you much Success in your Business!

Have a Great Week Ahead.
